Seminars for school children

Within the implementation of the project” “Protection of the habitats of a grey seal (Halichoerus carp), and a porpoise (Phocoena phocoena) in the area of the Słowiński National Park”, we conducted seminars for school children. The classes were dedicated for school children of 4th-6th grade of a primary school. The lecturers took place in the primary school in Szczenurza, the School and Kindergarten Complex in Smołdzino and the primary school in Gąbino. More than a hundred pupils were informed about the protection of the natural resources of the Baltic Sea, with particular reference to a grey seal and a porpoise. The participants of the classes learned about biology, threats and protection of seals and porpoises. In addition, they learned about the characteristics and different species of seals living in the Baltic Sea is - a grey, common and ringed seal. We also presented the objectives, implementation forms and so-far project effects. The participants received materials to promote the project. The youth was very interested in the theme of the lectures, and committed in the participation in the activities. It is gratifying that the pupils show a keen interest in natural science themes.
