Information meeting with fishermen

December 18, 2014 a meeting was held with the shipowners admitted to cultural fishing in the maritime area of the Słowiński National Park. It was one of the informational meetings in the initial phase of the project. The objectives of the project were presented during the meeting with a plan of activities carried out under the project. It was explained how endangered were the species of the harbor porpoise and gray seal, and what were the barriers for the development and existence of marine mammals.

In addition, all the equipment was presented and discussed, which will be used during the work on the sea including C-POD’s, porpoise acoustic detectors, and the underwater vehicle. Especially C -Pods were discussed in broad terms, especially since fishermen can encounter these devices at sea. The principles of the operation of these devices were explained, and also the information of their labeling and location was given. There was also the exchange of experiences in the field of maritime labor, for example: fishermen spoke what they believe C- Pods designation would be most effective.
