C-POD’s service

Even before the end of the year we conducted the service of hydroacoustic detectors so-called C-PODS, and we’ve evaluated the equipment losses as a result of storms.The work at sea lasted for two days. We replaced the batteries and memory cards, as well as we’ve secured saved data.

As a result of the storms at the end of last year we lost a couple of C-PODs and buoys. We systematically monitor the shoreline of the Park in search of these elements. The sea has washed up some of the elements on a beach that we’ve secured.

Porpoise detectors (C-PODs) have and inscription on the casing: „Słowiński Park Narodowy POLAND tel. + 48 59 81 17 204”. We suspect that elements of the set could have been washed away even over considerable distances from the boundaries of the Park. Here are a few photos from our work at sea.
