The control and maintenance of detectors

Having the safety measures in mind, the Director issued a ban on fishing in the area of Słowiński National Park, two weeks after releasing the seals. During the second day of the ban, we have conducted a check-up patrol. We have not seen any fishing activity during the patrol, no fishing nets were found in the area of the Park. In addition, we have checked the tracking system for porpoises.

At the beginning of June, we carried out a maintenance check-up of hydro-acoustic detectors, which are called C-POD’s. Long and warm days allowed us to carry out all planned works during a single day. We replaced the batteries and the memory cards. All saved data was secured.

The porpoise detectors have inscription: „Słowiński Park Narodowy POLAND tel. + 48 59 81 17 204”.

We think that the set elements could have been carried out beyond the borders of the Park. We attach few photographs of our inspection at sea. The pictures of missing items can be found in our previous entries.

In addition, we would like to thank the fishermen from Łeba for returning one of the lost C-PODs, which were lost during a storm.
